Study the following.
Traffic information is information issued by an air traffic services unit to alert a pilot to other known or observed air traffic which mау be in proximity to the position or intended route of flight and to help the pilot avoid a collision.
Information regarding traffic on a conflicting path should be given, whenever practicable, in the following form:
a) relative bearing of the conflicting traffic in terms of the 12-hour clock;
b) distance from the conflicting traffic in kilometres;
c) direction in which the conflicting traffic appears to be proceeding;
d) level and type of aircraft or, if known, relative speed of the conflicting traffic, e.g. slow or fast.
It is necessary to use the following words to describe the traffic:
closing, converging, parallel, same direction, opposite direction, diverging,
overtaking, crossing left to right, crossing right to left.
ACC: Traffic 12 o'clock 20 km, opposite direction FL 200; DC-8.
ACC: Traffic 10 o'clock, 10 km, same direction. Unknown traffic. Fast moving.
