(Direct and Indirect Speech)

Диагностический тест: Отметьте предложения ниже – верные (R) или неверные (W) и исправьте ошибки.

  1. Does her train arriving at 7 a.m.?
  2. So you think it was just a slip of the tongue, wasn't it?
  3. He beckoned me to come closer.
  4. She has informed us that she is going to leave the following week.
  5. He inquired why were we looking so upset.
  6. Could you tell what time is it now?
  7. He offered us to get there by his car.
  8. Mum asked did I have anything to eat in the morning.
  9. The teacher smiled at Tom saying that he had been the cleverest boy in the class.
  10. The lecturer told the audience that he traveled a lot before he got in the accident.

 

Direct Speech (Прямая речь)- речь от первого лица

Indirect/ Reported Speech (Косвенная речь) – пересказ прямой речи своими словами

Прямая речь Косвенная речь
He says, “Means of regulation may include fuel control”. He says that means of regulation might include fuel control.

1. Повествовательныепредложения вводятся глаголами: to say, to tell, to inform, to report, to wonder и другими, и союзом that, который часто опускается:

He says, “He will fix it”. They have said to him, “The contribution of scientists has been greatly appreciated”. He says that he will fix it. They have toldhim that the contribution of scientists has been greatly appreciated.

 

2. Личные и притяжательные местоимения заменяются по смыслу.

Tom says, “My wattmeter is here”. Tom says that his wattmeter is here.

3. Если сказуемое главного предложения выражено глаголом настоящего времени (обычно Present Indefinite или Present Perfect) или будущего времени (обычно Future Indefinite), то глагол в придаточном предложении употребляется в любом времени, которое требуется по смыслу.

 

4. Если сказуемое главного предложения выражено глаголом в одной из форм прошедшеговремени (обычно Past Indefinite), то глагол придаточного предложения употребляется в одной из форм прошедшего времени или будущего в прошедшем (Future in the Past), согласно приведенной ниже схеме:

  5. Если главное предложение стоит в одном из прошедших времен, то наречия времени и места и указательные местоимения заменяются следующим образом

Обратите внимание:

1. Если в предложении содержится несколько придаточных предложений, то правило согласования времен распространяется на все придаточные предложения.

2. Правило Согласования времен не действует, если дополнительное придаточное предложение выражает неопровержимый факт, обычно связанный с явлением природы.

Galileo proved that the Earth moves round the Sun.

3. В придаточных предложениях с союзами when/if используются Past indefinite, Past Continuous, Past Perfect в зависимости от ситуации.

I thought that we would discuss the problem when the electrician returned from the meeting.

4. Past Indefinite не трансформируется в придаточном предложении в Past Perfect, сохраняя свою форму, со следующими фразами:
