Форма инфинитива

Инфинитив в английском языке может иметь различные формы времени и залога.

  Active Passive
Indefinite to help to be helped
Continuous to be helping ---------
Perfect to have helped to have been helped
Perfect Continuous to have been helping ---------

Indefinite Infinitiveобозначает действие, которое происходит одновременно с действием выраженным глаголом в личной форме: It is interesting to study foreign languages.

Continuous Infinitiveупотребляется для выражения длительного действия, протекающего одновременно с действием, выраженным глаголом в личной форме : It was pleasant to be driving the car again.

Perfect Infinitive – обозначает действие, предшествующее действию, выраженному глаголом в личной форме. He was to have helped her.

Perfect Continuous Infinitive –показывает, что выраженное им действие началось до действия глагола-сказуемого и все еще продолжается. It’s terrible to have been waiting for her so long.

Инфинитив служить в предложении:

1. подлежащим: To skate is pleasant.

2. именной частью составного сказуемого: Your duty is to inform me about it.

3. дополнением: I asked him to help me.

4. определением: He expressed a desire to help me.

5. обстоятельством: I went to the station to see off a friend.

После следующих глаголов инфинитив употребляется с частицей to:

to agree to offer to decide to appear to forget to refuse

to attempt to plan to seem to promise to manage to arrange

to pretend to fail to hope to afford to tend to dare

to learn(how) to like to want to threaten
