1. Він катався на ковзанах з п’ятої до сьомої години. 2. Вчора вона читала цілий вечір. 3. Він писав цю статтю цілий тиждень. 4. Чи вона дивилася телевізор о шостій годині? 5. Що вони вчора робили цілий день? 6. Куди він йшов в цей час? 7. Ми не обідали вчора о третій годині. 8. Вони не грали у футбол цілий вечір. 9. Чому вона не прибирала в кімнаті в цей час вчора?

Past Indefinite Past Continuous
1) Час виражає завершену у визначений час у минулому дію: 1) Час виражає дію, яка тривала у визначений час у минулому:
The plane landed at 8 o’clock. At 9 o’clock the plane was flying to Tahiti from New-York.
He came home at 7 o’clock. He was working at 6 o’clock.
She got up at 6 o’clock. She was sleeping from 3 till 6 o’clock.

 


 

Past Indefinite Past Continuous
2)Час виражає декілька послідовних дій у минулому: 2)Час виражає декілька одночасних, тривалих дій у минулому:
First she read the advertisement, then she called the company. He was listening carefully while they were explaining the plan to him.
First she paid the driver, then she got out of the taxi. She was talking on her phone while she was driving to work.
