To create data, click Initialize database on the Data Creation Setup form. This action will create all base data needed to run Benchmark tests. The creation can take quite a while, depending on the amount of data requested. The text needed in the data is generated randomly, so it looks a bit strange. Additional data can be added later on.

Lesson 2: Running Tests

Overview

This lesson teaches the student how set up the environment needed to run benchmark tests. The lesson also describes, in greater detail, the many features of the benchmark tool.

Set up the benchmark environment

Run a benchmark test

Use all features of the benchmark tool

Creating a benchmark run

A new benchmark run can be created by clicking the Create Run button on the form Benchmark Run.  A benchmark run can include a number of users, each running a specific script.

There are 5 scripts available with Navision Axapta Version 2.5:

Ledger journal

Sales order

Purchase order

Inventory movement

Project journals

The mix of users is controlled with the script weight. Usually a benchmark run involves users running one single script. However, it is possible to create a Benchmark Run for users running more than one script.
